Chana Schoenberger (00:09):
Hi everybody. People are still trickling in from outside, but I'm going to get started because we value your time. I'm Chana Schoenberger. I'm the Editor-in-Chief of American Banker and I want to welcome you to Payments Forum and specifically to the Women in Payments portion of the conference. This is probably the most exciting part of the conference because we get to honor and celebrate the women who are moving the payments industry forward. And I know that sometimes it can seem like everything is a sea of dark blue suits and red ties, but looking around the room, I see some powerful women who are in this industry and who are doing amazing things. So we're going to be talking about careers and we're going to be talking about technology and how you got where you are today and where you can go next. So please think of this as a community.
(01:04):
The women in this room and the women you're going to meet this week as well as the men, but focus on the women for today. These are people who cut across all of the important companies in this sector, and what we really love to see is people exchanging cell phone numbers and thinking of each other when opportunities come up, when partnership ideas come up, and that's how we get it done. That's how we move to total world domination. So just a couple of quick housekeeping things before we get started, and then I'm going to introduce our next speaker. There is an app for this conference. There are QR codes on all of the different signs, and there'll be on the slides here you can scan to download. You can also find it in all the app stores. It's under Horizon. And also please mute your phones while we're in here so that we can hear everybody. So I'm going to introduce our sponsor, who is going to be coming up to say hello, Kristen Street, the Head of Banking for the Americas at ServiceNow.
Kristen Street (02:13):
Hi there. Hi everyone. My name is Kristen. It's a pleasure to be here this week with you. I was really struck by how much many of you already know each other and are smiling, giving hugs, excited to see each other. ServiceNow is really so grateful to be able to participate in this week with you all the entire payments form in fact. But we do quite a bit of research with Horizon and American Bankers so that it can help you and your organizations to affect the kind of change that you want to in your respective banks, financial institutions, consulting firms, et cetera. So when I was thinking about some of the things that I wanted to say, this is going to be a great panel this whole day to talk about how we're going to modify our careers, think about the future, where are we being led in our organizations?
(03:05):
And I was reflecting on a quote and I wanted to share it with you because it sort of made me smile. I think everyone in this room probably loves Maya Angelou. There's not many things that she doesn't say that everyone doesn't love, but I thought this was kind of interesting. She said, my mission in life is to not merely survive, but to thrive and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style. And I love that when women come together, all of those things are in play and there's acceptance and love in the room. And so I look forward to meeting many of you and enjoying this time with you and getting insights that help you personally to take your careers to the next level. And ServiceNow sponsors quite a few women in technology events in conjunction with many of the conferences that we do around the globe, and it's one of the most rewarding times that we have. So thank you for letting me join you today and hopefully some of the insights that we have here will help us all as we move forward in our career. So thank you.
