Wilshire Bancorp (WIBC) in Los Angeles said Monday that it had hired Jung Hak Son as its chief marketing officer, a position he took over in 2009. Son, who will manage a newly created group at the $2.8 billion-asset company, will be responsible for developing new business relationships for the bank. Son recently serve as chief credit officer at Hanmi Bank (HAFC).
"Son has spent his entire career working with Korean-American banks in the Los Angeles area and has proven to be one of the most accomplished bankers in our industry," J.W. Yoo, Wilshire's president and chief executive, said in a press release. "His experience in lending, branch management and credit administration gives him a unique perspective on the efforts required to attract high quality new relationships to the bank."
