Tasq Technology has created an online store that independent sales organizations, merchant-account salespeople and financial institutions can use to sell point-of-sale supplies to their merchants. Typically, a merchant places a call to reorder POS supplies. This store eliminates that step. Tasq, a Rocklin, Calif.-based POS equipment distributor, sets a minimum price for the supplies, which includes paper rolls, power supplies and holsters for wireless POS terminals, that the ISO or bank can mark up. The ISO or bank retains the difference between the Tasq price and the marked-up price, says Pelwasha Faquiryan, a Tasq vice president. She adds that Tasq leaves final pricing up to the reseller. Resellers also may have to pay a fee to set up the store, but Faquiryan says such costs are reviewed individually. The online store can be branded with the organization's logo and tagline, a Tasq spokesperson says. Merchants must set up individual accounts in order to provide payment information. Tasq is a division of First Data Corp., a Greenwood Village, Colo.-based processor.
