Skipify is working with Google's Gmail to enable shopping and purchasing for email users.
Skipify, a Cupertino, Calif.-based AI payments and commerce provider, will power its 1-Touch payment technology through a new Shoppable Email program that also provides real-time product information and a shopping cart inside of the e-mail.
Merchants participating in the Shoppable Email program have seen revenue increase at 30% from email, while lowering unsubscribe rates or cart abandonment by 50%, Skipify stated in a Friday press release.
"We're thrilled to be working with the team at Google Gmail to help merchants bring shopping into the inbox for the first time," Ryth Martin, CEO and founder of Skipify, said in the release. "We are in the very early stages of a shift to unlock commerce and payments within and across channels. Skipify is here to help brands drive and capitalize on that shift."
Skipify has touted its 1-Touch payment option, in which users link payment credentials through a Skipify app, to make purchases through QR-code scans and watermarks on direct mail pieces or product catalogs.
Through Gmail, merchants can send an e-mail to customers with product descriptions, shopping cart and the 1-Touch payment button included. The product descriptions for clothing and other items allow size, style and color selections.
Merchants access the program directly through Skipify, which provides the service with no additional e-mail coding needed from the merchant to enable the shopping experience inside of Gmail.
Skipify says its omnichannel payments network allows merchants to extend the digital commerce to shoppers with instant purchasing through e-mails, texts, social media channels, display advertisements and web channels.
