Payments processor Shift4 Payments has acquired CurvePay, an independent sales organization focused on the taxi industry, the latest in a string of recent acquisitions.

Westbury, N.Y.-based CurvePay provides credit card processing services for tens of thousands of taxis across the U.S., and the acquisition will add millions of annual transactions to Shift4 Payments’ platform, the company said in a Tuesday press release. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

CurvePay’s technology and operations will be absorbed into Harbortouch, a large point of sale brand Shift4 Payments operates, and its headquarters will move to Shift4 Payments’ base in Allentown, Pa., according to the release.

Earlier this month Shift4 Payments bought three other niche payment processing companies, pushing its annual processing volume to more than 1 billion transactions representing over $100 billion, the release noted. In January Lighthouse Network acquired Shift4 Corp., rebranding the combined entity as Shift4 Payments.
