Sam's Club to Accept Visa Credit Cards Inside Stores

Sam's Club will accept Visa credit cards inside its stores next month, as the Walmart-owned retailer expands its payments network.

The companies did not disclose financial terms of the agreement, which was announced on Tuesday. Sam's Club already accepts Visa debit and prepaid cards inside its warehouse stores and Visa credit cards at its fuel pumps and online store.

The deal with Visa comes after American Express last year reached an agreement with Sam's Club to accept its credit cards. Before the Amex deal, Sam's Club stores only accepted cards processed by MasterCard and Discover Financial Services.

Visa last year cut a deal with warehouse club Costco Wholesale to accept its cards, swooping in after Costco ended its co-branding relationship with American Express.
