ProPay, ControlScan to Offer PCI Compliance Tools

ProPay, a division of the payment processor Total System Services (TSYS), will provide ControlScan's data security compliance tools to small businesses.

Under a partnership announced July 23, the two companies will provide merchants with a variety of resources to assess compliance with the Payment Card Industry  (PCI) data security standard, which describes how companies must protect any card data they handle.

"Our partnership with ControlScan will provide additional tools that will simplify and guide our merchants through the compliance process so they can focus more energy on growing their businesses," said Greg Pesci, president of ProPay, in a press release.

Offerings include a self-assessment questionnaire, a network scan and a report on overall compliance. Additionally, ProPay will offer merchants no-deductible coverage to protect from future data breaches.

ProPay also entered into a partnership with ThreatMetrix this month to offer anti-fraud tools to merchants.

ProPay , of Lehi, Utah, became a unit of TSYS in late 2012. ControlScan is based in Atlanta, Ga.
