Point-of-sale payment provider payworks has released a white-label software development kit (SDK) that outside parties can use to develop mobile point of sale services.
The software includes a merchant-facing mobile application with a chip-and-PIN card reader, a Web-based merchant dashboard and automated merchant onboarding and card reader processes.
The SDK allows integration of the PIN readers into merchant apps such as those used for tablet-based cashier systems and mobile taxi apps.
German acquirer ConCardis will be the first provider to offer the SDK through its OptiPay product for merchant service providers in retail, gastronomy and hospitality industries. Acquirers and independent sales organizations can use to SDK to quickly launch a branded mobile point of sale product, the Munich-based payworks said in a press release.
