Consumers using Paysafe's prepaid cards can now make online purchases in the Google Play store as part of a partnership with Google.
The international rollout of Vienna-based Paysafe Group's arrangement with Google has begun in Poland, where Paysafe says more than one million people a year use the company's mobile-generated paysafecard.
"The formation of this exciting partnership is a significant milestone in the history of our company and the launch follows close collaboration and dedication from both of our teams to include paysafecard as the latest payment method for users," Udo Müller, CEO of paysafecard, said in a Thursday press release.
Because security in making digital payments concerns most consumers, Müller added, the option of a using the paysafecard prepaid card "has come at the right time to enable consumers and both companies to benefit."
Customers who do not have a credit card or digital banking services, or who don't want to enter financial data online, can make the online purchases in Google Play store through the card's 16-digit PIN used to authorize transactions.
Paysafecard is currently available in 46 countries and accepted in more than 600,000 sales locations worldwide, of which 40,000 are located in Poland.
