Oink Teams with WorldPay to Extend Merchant Acquisition Plans

Youth payments company Oink has partnered with processor WorldPay in an attempt to broaden its merchant base.

The WorldPay processing platform is used to process in-store card payments, as well as online and mobile transactions. Oink will add its youth payments technology to WorldPay's merchant network and will integrate with teen-focused retail websites and stores.

Oink, which changed its name from Virtual Piggy in late 2013, enables young people to make payments within parameters set by their parents. The company, which has traditionally specialized in e-commerce, is making a move into retail payments.  WorldPay recently expanded its merchant services reach by entering a deal to buy Century Payments.

"WorldPay is an excellent partner for Oink," says Jo Webber, CEO and founder of Oink, in a Jan. 21 press release. "Their expertise with in-person, online and mobile payments fits our strategy perfectly."
