Mopay Signs Carrier Billing Contract with China's Baidu

Mopay has entered into a carrier billing relationship with Baidu Mobile Game.

Under this agreement, the Palo Alto, Calif.-based online payments processor will be the preferred carrier billing provider for the Baidu Mobile Game, the entertainment service platform of Chinese Internet giant Baidu, mopay says in a press release.

The companies have jointly created a mopay/Baidu Mobile Game software development kit designed to allow users of the Baidu Mobile Game distribution platform to use mopay's local carrier connections for billing.

Mopay's technology enables merchants to bill charges directly to consumers' cell phone or land line accounts in more than 80 countries, including China.

"We are thrilled to enable Baidu Mobile Game users to engage with our mopay solution…especially in geographic regions where alternative payment approaches are more the norm," mopay CEO Ingo Lippert says in the release.
