Mastercard promotes exec to lead digital, emerging partnerships in Asia Pacific

Mastercard has named longtime exec Rama Sridhar to the newly created role of executive vice president, digital and emerging partnerships for the Asia Pacific region.

In her new post, Sridhar will be responsible for driving strategic engagements with key digital and emerging payments players in Asia Pacific as part of Mastercard’s efforts to build and commercialize innovative and breakthrough payment services and solutions, according to a March 20 press release.

Sridhar, a 10-year Mastercard veteran based in Singapore, most recently was senior vice president of security, network and processing solutions in Asia Pacific. Previously she held a variety of posts at Mastercard, including group head of strategic accounts for Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining Mastercard, Sridhar was a vice president for several years at both BNP Paribas and HDFC Bank, taking one year out to launch PayVantage, a third-party payments processing initiative in India. She began her career at Xerox Corp. in India in 1989.
