Ingenico Group has begun offering tools to address some of the complex challenges in developing EMV-enabled mobile point of sale applications.
The French terminal manufacturer unveiled Ingenico Mobile Solutions mPOS EMV software development kit, a new developer-friendly mobile point of sale product that enables software vendors and developers to integrate EMV payment acceptance within their applications, Ingenico announced in a news release Tuesday.
The new offering provides a toolkit with iOS and Android libraries, SDK documentation and test applications, as well as support for a broad range of EMV-ready card readers, an EMV gateway that connects to all major U.S. processors, and support for future Ingenico Mobile Solutions card readers without having to re-certify.
"[Application program interfaces] and SDKs are taking hold in financial services as a way to accelerate innovation," David Szczepanski, chief operating officer at Ingenico Mobile Solutions, the company’s mobile point of sale division, said in the release.
