Google Wallet Executive Peter Hazlehurst Resigns: WSJ

Peter Hazlehurst, Google Wallet's director of product management, has quit Google, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

Hazlehurst, who left the company March 31, had been at Google since 2011 and was part of the Google Wallet project since 2012. His next move will likely be outside of the payments industry, he told the Journal.

A number of executives have departed Google Wallet, which has been in an almost constant state of retooling over the past couple of years as it attempts to lure consumers and merchants.

Philippe Dauman, the business development lead for Google Wallet's instant buy service, recently left to join Twitter. Jonathan Wall and Marc Freed-Finnegan quit to form Index. And Osama Bedier, the former head of Google Wallet, left in 2013.
