TotalHousehold Pro, a website platform for home improvement contractors to manage their businesses, is partnering with CardConnect to launch a mobile app to allow contractors to accept payments in the field.

“We took our time in selecting the best partner," Jeff LaCava, founder and CEO of TotalHousehold Pro, said in a press release. "We needed one that delivers the required level of security and reliability, yet is easy enough to use for our home improvement and construction clients.”
The key factors in developing the mobile app were creating a simple pricing structure, lowering processing fees, and giving clients the ability to secure more business while in the field, LaCava added.
After downloading the TotalHousehold Pro App, contractors can take payments directly through their phones or other mobile devices. The contractor can either enter the card number or use a swiping device on the phone linked to the app. ACH payments can be entered through the checking account routing and account numbers.
TotalHousehold Pro says using the app allows the contractor funds to be available in one to three days, in a process that can often take up to 30 or more days in the home improvement sector. In the future, the app may include a scanning capability to scan paper checks.
Digital and printable receipts are also available as well as options for invoicing and creating recurring payments.
This combined offering also provides data breach protection for home improvement contractors and their customers through card data tokenization, which helps follow compliance with PCI data security standards The Android version is available to download from Google Play, and the iOS version is still in development.
