First Data is offering a new way to set up its card management technology, VisionPlus, to reduce cost and the upfront work of deployment.
The Atlanta-based First Data on April 17 announced VisionPlus Flex, an upgrade of its VisionPlus suite which includes software that can be delivered as a server-based appliance.
VisionPLUS Flex supports issuing and acquiring of credit, debit, prepaid, consumer and commercial cards for private label, American Express, JCB, MasterCard and Visa brands, as well as consumer loans. The product also supports multi-currency transactions.
Once purchased, financial institutions choose a VisionPlus Flex configuration option and a list of capabilities. The technology is then assembled with the appropriate hardware and software, and at the end First Data verifies the installation. First Data also works with partners to adds new payments technology over time.
Other processors are also adding tech capabilities to accommodate fast changes in payments technology. Heartland Payment Systems, for example,
