Denny’s has partnered with Presto, a maker of restaurant industry hardware, to provide tablets for customers to pay at the table using credit and debit cards for contact and contactless payments.
Screens built into the tabletop devices also will support PIN-debit transactions, ongoing promotions, entertainment, the opportunity to join Denny’s loyalty program and the option for guests to have their receipt emailed to them, according to a Tuesday press release.
The new solution offers additional revenue streams and low processing costs, according to the release. A Presto spokesperson said First Data is providing payment processing for the new service, which is optional for Denny's mostly franchise store operators.
Presto, which makes a range of AI-powered restaurant management tools, will install its tablets in participating U.S. stores, the release said. Denny’s operates 1,700 outlets globally.
