Credorax expands multi-channel offerings with mPOS partnership

Emphasizing its expansion into multi-channel payments, Credorax is partnering with mobile point of sale developer BBPOS to provide mobile POS solutions for independent software vendors and sales organizations across Europe.

Credorax, a Tel Aviv-based merchant acquirer/processor with a European banking license, will provide its acquiring services to BBPOS customers using Network Merchants Inc.'s (NMI) gateway technology. The payment services will be available in all 32 European Union regions.

"The global payments sector is more interconnected than ever and this partnership enables us to help simplify it for merchants, ISVs and ISOs," Credorax CEO Igal Rotem said in a Tuesday press release. "Through this collaboration, we're not only helping BBPOS expand its European footprint, but also gain a valuable POS manufacturer for our card-present offering to merchants."

NMI, based in Chicago and New York, has certified the mPOS and stand-alone card readers from BBPOS, as well as tablet POS hardware for deployment from Credorax, which has certified the devices for use on Visa and Mastercard rails.

The vision at Hong Kong-based BBPOS to continue advancing technology for its merchants has enabled the company to "grow into the global company we are today," Robert Cook, chief revenue officer at BBPOS, said in the release. "We are thrilled to be working with Credorax, whose mission is aligned with our own, to play this pivotal role in our European expansion."

The contactless mPOS devices through BBPOS called WisePad 2 will comply with the Secure Customer Authentication provision of the PSD2 initiative that took hold in Europe on Sept. 14, the companies said.
