Citi's newest mobile upgrade: Tracking replacement cards

Citigroup mobile-app users can now track the status of deliveries of replacement credit cards.

Customers with iPhones and Android devices can see when a replacement card has been processed and shipped, when to expect it and when it has been activated. The new feature is part of Citi's broader effort to modernize its mobile offerings. In early November the company announced several enhancements to its app, including the ability to dispute credit card charges and request higher credit limits.

Card reissuances occur for a variety of reasons: expirations, chip upgrades, product conversions, security breaches at retailers, loss, damage or theft.

"Having real-time insight into the status of their card delivery will provide our customers with more peace of mind and enable them to plan ahead," Alice Milligan, chief customer and digital experience officer for Citi Global Cards and Consumer Services, said in a news release Tuesday.

The same monitoring capabilities are available on Citi's website, too.
