Citi Adds Turkey to Global Commercial Card Platform

Citigroup is migrating its commercial card business in Turkey to its global platform, as the bank plots additional moves into Russia and other markets.

The migration to Citi’s global platform will provide existing multinational and local card clients in Turkey with a consistent customer experience, expanded global acceptance and digital tools that allow more visibility into corporate spending.

Citi, which has also been developing mobile technology for its corporate cards, offers issuance in more than 100 countries, with a local currency in 65 markets. About 500 multinational corporations use Citi's commercial cards.

Later this year, Citi plans to formally launch its commercial card platform in Russia, where certain clients are currently piloting its system. It also plans to launch in Ukraine and Kazakhstan this year.

Citi’s moves come as the overall business card market recovers following the 2008 financial crisis
