BigCommerce is adding Amazon Pay support to its checkout, providing businesses with the opportunity to offer the payment option to Amazon customers worldwide.
In addition, the cloud-based e-commerce platform has joined Amazon Pay's Global Partner Program to make it possible for merchants to add Amazon Pay to existing websites in a matter of minutes.
“BigCommerce shares our commitment to helping retailers grow sales and attract new customers,” Patrick Gauthier, vice president of Amazon Pay, said in a March 20 press release. “Through this integration, BigCommerce merchants can easily integrate Amazon Pay and reach Amazon customers that have come to value a personalized, trusted and familiar buying experience.”
BigCommerce says its merchants will see reduced checkout friction with Amazon Pay, as users initiate payments through their Amazon login and saved information, including payment type and shipping addresses.
“More than 90 percent of traffic to my website comes from a mobile device, so it’s critically important that our checkout is mobile-optimized and enables shoppers to complete transactions as quickly as possible,” Brandon Chatham, CEO and founder of NatoMounts, said in the release. “Since we launched Amazon Pay, it now accounts for more than 20% of transactions on the website and has helped reduce the time from first visit to checkout.”
Amazon Pay is immediately available to all BigCommerce merchants based in the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
