Singapore marks the 27th country where stores will use Adyen’s platform to accept payments, following a 12-month push when the Amsterdam-based company added POS acceptance in six additional countries, boosting coverage from 1,500 to more than 4,000 cities, Adyen said in a Wednesday press release.
Adyen also unveiled Terminal API, a service supporting transactions via cloud or internet connections, so store clerks can conduct transactions wirelessly from any device or location.
“Terminal API makes life easier for merchants, creating a more flexible infrastructure that eliminates compatibility issues between different local networks, legacy systems or cash registers,” said Roelant Prins, Adyen’s chief commercial officer, in the release.
In February Adyen was named the primary payments processor for eBay,
