ACI Worldwide has begun to lend a hand in The Clearing House’s effort to create a real-time payments system in the United States.
In particular, ACI is helping TCH in designing and fabricating an access capability that can be managed directly by participants or through a cloud-based service. The capability would provide functions such as basic connectivity, stand-in processing, risk management and fraud prevention.
These functions are necessary for financial institutions to be able to offer real-time payments to their customers, as easy access allows such a product to become ubiquitous, ACI said in a press release Tuesday. The Naples, Fla.-based company also said that it is utilizing its experience deploying similar technology in other markets, including the U.K., Singapore and Australia.
“This significant step will enable customers, both established and new players to the financial industry, to effectively leverage the global move to real-time payments,” Craig Saks, ACI’s group president for strategic products, said in the release.
