Acculynk Integrates PayLeap with Spindle Mobile Tech

Acculynk's recently acquired PayLeap unit will integrate mobile payments technology developed by Spindle to enhance its product offering for small and midsize merchants.

PayLeap provides a gateway for online merchants and also offers in-person and mail/phone order processing capabilities. Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Spindle's system includes consumer- and merchant-facing mobile payments, couponing, loyalty, and advertising capabilities.

Atlanta-based Acculynk's PIN-debit technology has traditionally been targeted to large retailers with an online presence, including American Airlines. After the September 2012 acquisition, Acculynk integrated its online PIN-debit technology with PayLeap's platform to position itself to serve smaller merchants, renaming the division Acculynk Direct.

"This partnership represents an alliance between two organizations that have a track record for delivering frictionless payment solutions to merchants," said Acculynk CEO Ashish Bahl, in a Feb. 6 release. "Becoming part of the large and growing Spindle eco-system is a strategic opportunity for us to increase our reach and serve the needs of customers across the payments world."

The announcement follows a recently announced partnership between Spindle and point of sale technology distributor Integrated Payments.
