Apple Pay became available in Norway Wednesday for customers in Nordea Bank AB and Santander Bank to begin with.
The payment system will also be rolled out to clients in Sbanken ASA, Visa said in a statement.
“We are pleased we can provide Apple Pay to our customers in close cooperation with Mastercard,” said Snorre Storset, chief executive officer at Nordea Norge, in a separate statement.
Apple Pay will likely offer a challenge to Vipps, a system launched by DNB ASA and downloaded by almost 3 million Norwegians.
