Western Independent Bankers Group Taps New Chief

The Western Independent Bankers, a San Francisco industry group, has a new president and chief executive.

The association said in a press release Friday that Michael Delucchi was selected to fill both roles following a national search. Delucchi recently served as chief operating officer at Bank of the Orient. His professional background also includes serving as chief administrative officer at Trans Pacific National Bank and chief information officer at Pacific Coast Bankers' Bank.

Delucchi's "extensive knowledge of the industry, combined with his commitment to the initiatives of WIB and community banking make him an excellent choice to lead the association into its next chapter," Russell Colombo, the president and chief executive of Bank of Marin and the association's chairman, said in the press release. "His connections and experience with banking executives across the West Coast are critical to his and WIB's future success."

A spokeswoman for the association said that previous president, Julianna Graham, left in November. Ray Smith, the group's chief administrative officer, had filled in on an interim basis.
