Wells Fargo Promotes Exec to Lead Three Business Lines

Wells Fargo has expanded the leadership of Perry Pelos, head of commercial banking, to include corporate banking and treasury management.

The position is newly created, said Gabriel Boehmer, a Wells spokesman. Pelos joined Wells in 1987 in its commercial banking training program. He was named corporate banking head in 1998. He became division manager for the commercial banking group's Central division in 2000 and was named group head in 2010.

It made sense to combine oversight of all areas because of the large amount of overlap, Boehmer said.

"Nearly 85% of Wells Fargo's commercial banking customers use our treasury management products and services," Boehmer said.

Kyle Hranicky, head of corporate banking, and Danny Peltz, treasury management's leader, will retain those roles and report to Pelos. Wells plans to hire a head of commercial banking in the coming weeks.
