Valley National Bank in Wayne, N.J., has named Bernadette Mueller senior Community Reinvestment Act officer.
Mueller is a 23-year veteran of the $19 billion-asset Valley National and previously was director of marketing. She has also worked in branch oversight and with the company’s residential and commercial mortgage divisions.
She will now oversee and administer the company’s CRA plan, including an annual review and update of the plan's goals. Mueller will also plan and execute community development activities within specific markets and ensure CRA compliance.
Mueller “shares a strong commitment to the bank’s vision of serving the credit and financial needs of its CRA assessment areas, including the needs of low- and moderate-income persons, low- and moderate-income geographies, small businesses and community development organizations,” Chairman and Chief Executive Gerald Lipkin said in a news release.
