William D. Hoffman has been appointed president and chief executive of United Orient Bank in New York's Chinatown.
He was also elected to the board of directors.
Mr. Hoffman has over 25 years of experience with both domestic and international banks in the areas of lending, marketing, corporate banking, and compliance.
He was president of EAG, a New York consulting firm. He has also held senior executive positions with Nordbanken, Lloyds/Continental Bank of Canada, National Bank of Canada, Marine Midland Bank, and Chase Manhattan Bank.
Mr. Hoffman's goals include leading United Orient to becoming a premier commercial bank in Chinatown and its designated marketing area, improving profitablity, and maintaining its already high level of customer service.
