Truist and TAB Bank announced on Thursday changes to their chief information officers in a multi-bank leadership shuffle.

Truist named Steve Hagerman as its new CIO. He will start Oct. 28 after five years with Wells Fargo, most recently as the bank's CIO for consumer technology. Previously, Hagerman held senior leadership positions at JPMorgan Chase and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is a graduate of Franklin University and the Wharton Executive Education Program.

"I'm delighted to welcome Steve Hagerman to Truist as chief information officer," Chairman and CEO Bill Rogers said in a press release. "Steve has deep experience serving clients, inspiring teams, and driving business results through technology innovation and modernization. His purposeful leadership, broad expertise and focus on client experience aligns with our strategy and our culture. He is the ideal leader to enhance and leverage our technology capabilities to drive growth and performance."

In Hagerman's wake, last week Wells Fargo hired Bridget Engle as its head of technology, the equivalent role to a CIO. Tracy Kerrins, who previously occupied the role, will report to Engle and lead Wells Fargo's consumer technology and generative AI teams. Kerrins was named one of American Banker's Most Powerful Women in Banking in 2023.

"Bridget is a proven technology leader with deep experience leading large-scale technology transformations across multiple global financial institutions," Wells Fargo CEO Charlie Scharf said in a press release. "We have made great progress under Tracy's leadership, and Bridget's experience will be invaluable as we continue to modernize our platforms and invest in, scale, and increase innovation across the company."

At TAB Bank, Tami Fisher joins the executive leadership team as CIO after a stint as Zions Bancorporation's director of technology strategy and governance. Fisher helped lead a three-year technology transformation at Zions.

"We are thrilled to welcome Tami Fisher to the TAB Bank team," CEO Austin Strong said in a press release. "Tami has a proven track record of aligning teams toward common objectives through her analytical skills and strategic vision. Tami's innovative approach and team-building expertise will be invaluable as TAB Bank continues to advance our technology initiatives, enabling us to provide bold financial solutions that empower and uplift our customers."
