State National Bank of Big Spring, Tex., has agreed to use a two-factor authentication product from Comodo Group of Jersey City for its online banking site.
Comodo Two Factor Authentication creates a digital certificate that is stored on consumers' computers. The bank's Web site checks for this certificate, as well as a username and password, when users log in.
Richard Steel, State National's executive vice president, said in a press release Wednesday that this method lets him "deliver a secure user authentication login process with minimal inconvenience to our customers."
