S&T in Pa. Expands into State College

S&T Bank (STBA) has opened a new branch in State College, Pa., and hired two local community bankers to expand its presence in the region.

David Richards was named executive vice president of the State College branch. He has served as chief executive of two community banks in State College and was a founding member of Nittany Bank, which was sold in 2006 to National Penn Bancshares (NBCP).

The senior vice president for the new branch is Steven Grim, who has approximately 35 years of banking experience, including 25 in State College.

"State College has had a lot of appeal to us for a number of years," said Todd Brice, president and chief executive officer of the $4.5 billion-asset S&T Bank, in a press release. "We were just looking for the right opportunity and the right people to enter the market."
