Rockville Financial Inc. in Connecticut said Monday that it has hired a former banker at Wells Fargo & Co. to be its next president and chief executive.
The $1.6 billion-asset company said William Crawford would succeed William McGurk, who is retiring, on April 26. Until then Crawford will serve as a senior executive president.
McGurk, who is also retiring as the president and CEO of Rockville Bank, will remain on the bank's board for at least two more years, the company said.
Crawford had led commercial banking groups in the past three years for Wells Fargo and Wachovia Corp., which the San Francisco company acquired in 2008.
