Plaza Bank (PLZB) in Irvine, Calif., has picked a head of administration.
Michael Vantrease has joined the $464 million-asset lender as executive vice president and chief administrative officer, it announced Tuesday. The bank could not immediately be reached for further details.
Vantrease joins Plaza from Bank of the West in San Francisco, where he was senior vice president.
"I've known [Vantrease] for more than two decades, and he's as good as it gets at sharpening the operation of a bank like ours that is focused on small and mid-sized businesses," said Gene Galloway, Plaza Bank's chief executive, in the news release. "His internal expertise will give us even more core strength to help us reach out to our customers."
Plaza Bank is owned by the $3.8 billion-asset Carpenter Bank Partners, which has five banking units in California, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Plaza has one branch in California and two in Nevada.
