Planters First Bank in Georgia names next CEO

Planters First Bank in Hawkinsville, Georgia, has promoted Eli Tinsley to president and CEO.

Tinsley, who was most recently president and chief banking officer of the $366 million-asset bank, has 24 years of banking experience, Planters First said. Tinsley succeeds Michael Phillips, who will leave the bank at the end of the year.

“I am looking forward to leading Planters First Bank as we continue to grow and serve the people and businesses in middle Georgia,” Tinsley said in a press release Tuesday.

Tinsley became president and chief banking officer in 2020 after serving as market president for the bank in Cordele, Georgia. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Louisiana State University Banking School. Tinsley was recently elected to the Community Bankers Association of Georgia’s board.

Dan Duchnowski, who most recently was chief deposit officer and chief marketing officer at Planters First, succeeds Tinsley as chief banking officer.
