The broader Santander group invests $5 billion annually in technology. “Santander Bank’s transformation will tap into this,” Habis said. “By embracing digital channels, we will be able to meet new and existing customers with wider access to our offerings, including new digital tools and resources, which will deepen our relationship with them.”
He is particularly interested in engaging the “missing middle,” including mass-market and mass-affluent customers.
“At other larger, universal banks, their account balances may preclude them from receiving certain services. We want to introduce them to a higher level of service and support,” he said.
