The restaurant chain P.F. Chang's has confirmed that the data breach it discovered Tuesday involved the theft of credit and debit cards.
In a statement, Rick Federico, P.F. Chang's chief executive, said the has initiated an investigation with the United States Secret Service and a team of third-party forensics experts to understand the nature and scope of the incident. No details, such as number of cards affected, have been released yet.
While the investigation continues, the company's restaurants have moved to a manual credit card imprinting system.
