Pentagon Federal Credit Union has agreed to issue American Express Co. cards to its members.
Amex announced the exclusive partnership Monday, making Pentagon Federal the only U.S. credit union to issue its cards. The credit union will handle all aspects of issuing and marketing the cards, as well as customer service.
The New York financial company said the exclusive arrangement would last for a limited time.
Pentagon Federal, an Alexandria, Va., institution, has more than 900,000 members and assets exceeding $13.5 billion. It caters to members of the military.
The PenFed Premium Travel Rewards American Express Card has a competitive rewards program and offers benefits such as travel insurance and roadside assistance.
