Penns Woods Bancorp in Williamsport, Pa., has promoted Michelle Karas to chief operating officer.
Karas' promotion at the $1.3 billion-asset company took effect March 1. In the new role, Karas oversees deposit operations, digital banking, IT, imaging, marketing, sales and training functions.
Karas joined Penns Woods in 2012 as head of institutional advancement; most recently, she was in charge of deposit operations, e-banking, information technology, imaging, marketing, sales and training at Penns Woods. She has also worked for First Columbia Bank & Trust in Bloomsburg, Pa., and Citizens & Northern Bank in Wellsboro, Pa.
