Pathfinder in New York Appoints New Chairman

Pathfinder Bancorp (PBHC) in Oswego, N.Y., has named longtime director Chris Burritt as its chairman.

Burritt, who joined the $492 million-asset company's board in 1986, is president and general manager of auto dealer R.M. Motors/Chris Cross. He "provides a strong vision, intellect and commitment to our mission, and will be instrumental in the execution of our strategic plan and growth going forward," Pathfinder President and Chief Executive Thomas Schneider said in a Thursday press release.

Burritt succeeds Janette Resnick, who retired after 17 years on the board and a decade as chairman. Her retirement is "commensurate with the company by-laws," Schneider said. The company added more than $200 million in assets during Resnick's time on the board.

"It has been a distinct honor and privilege to serve on the Pathfinder Bank Board," Resnick said in the release. "The bank's growth and success are attributable to a forward thinking board of directors, President and CEO Tom Schneider's skilled leadership, and the dedication of the Pathfinder family of employees. … The depth of knowledge and experience [Burritt] has acquired over the past 27 years as a board member will enhance the bank's future success."

Pathfinder was released in November from a regulatory order issued by the Office of Thrift Supervision in 2009. The company has eight branches in New York.
