National loan servicer applies to form a bank

AmeriNational Community Services, a Las Vegas loan servicer, has applied to form an industrial bank.

The company has applied with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the Commissioner of the Nevada Division of Financial Institutions to create AmeriNat Bank, according to a public noticed submitted to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Adrienne Thorson, AmeriNational's chairman and CEO, would serve as the bank's president & CEO. She has been at AmeriNational for 20 years.

“The AmeriNat management team is looking forward to an expanded opportunity to deliver an extensive scope of expertise and services to our clients in the affordable housing and economic development asset classes,” Thorson said in a Monday press release.

AmeriNational, founded in 1975, services loan portfolios owned or originated by government, quasi-government, financial institutions, private investors and nonprofits. The company manages more than $8 billion in loans and related deposits for about 300 clients, including more than 100 Habitat for Humanity affiliates.
