Old National Bancorp in Evansville, Ind., has agreed to sell a total of 17 branches in Indiana, Illinois and Ohio to First Mid-Illinois Bancshares and MainSource Financial Group.

Board members and prospects are nervous about personable liability, given a rise in government lawsuits against former directors of failed banks. While banks typically carry insurance for directors, it is unclear how much protection those policies provide.

Renee Nash was named to the $155 million-asset bank's board Monday. Folsom Lake's board has varied in number over the years, between nine and 12 members. The bank currently has 10 directors.

MainSource Financial Group in Greensburg, Ind., has named an Anthem healthcare executive to its board.
Erin Hoeflinger, president of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Ohio, will become director of the $3.3 billion-asset MainSource Financial and of MainSource Bank on Sept. 21.
Hoeflinger succeeds Phil Frantz, a longtime board member who retired in April. MainSource still has another vacancy on it board and it hopes to fill it soon, Chief Executive Archie Brown said in an interview.
Hoeflinger has worked for Anthem since 1995 and became head of its Ohio division in 2008. She is also a trustee of Ohio State University.
