JetBlue Airways Corp. of New York is letting customers use PayPal Inc.'s payment system to purchase tickets online.
The San Jose unit of eBay Inc., which announced the agreement Thursday, has made efforts in recent years to court large merchants, and in the past year has won contracts with several airlines; the first, Northwest Airlines Inc. began accepting PayPal in June.
Don Uselmann, JetBlue's manager of business deployment, said in a press release that the airline agreed to accept payments through PayPal because it wanted to offer "more options and even greater flexibility to customers."
