Denis Sheahan, who has served as chief financial officer of the company and bank since 2000, has assumed the newly created position of chief operating officer at Rockland. Sheahan has worked at Rockland for 17 years.
Robert Cozzone has succeeded Sheahan as CFO. Cozzone also continues to serve as treasurer of the bank and company, a position he has held since 2008. He reports to Sheahan in his new role.
Independent and Rockland also announced a number of additional changes. Barry Jensen has been promoted to chief information officer. He previously served as controller of the bank and principal accounting officer for both Independent and Rockland.
Jensen is replaced by Mark Ruggiero, who has been Rockland's assistant controller for the past four years.
The $5.9 billion-asset company is based in Rockland, Mass.
