Travelocity said Tuesday that it has launched a cobranded MasterCard with Barclays PLC.
Cardholders would not need to accumulate points to redeem their rewards. Consumers who use the Travelocity Web site earn triple points for booking a flight and hotel package and double points for flights, budget hotels, last-minute packages and other offerings. They also receive points for everyday purchases on the card.
Customers earn a $50 discount on their travel bookings for 5,000 points and a $200 discount for 15,000 miles. There is no annual fee in the first year.
Travelocity, a division of Sabre Holdings Corp. of Southlake, Tex., said the card would have no blackout dates or other restrictions for hotels, flights or car rentals.
