In Brief: Northern Trust Taps an Investment Chief

Northern Trust Corp. announced Monday that it had named Steven A. Schoenfeld chief investment officer of its global quantitative management unit.

Since joining Northern Trust in 2004, Mr. Schoenfeld has been the chief investment strategist, working closely with the sales and client-service teams to lead research, strategy, and product development efforts for the quantitative management unit.

Northern Trust also said it had hired James Upton to be a senior investment strategist in its New York office. Mr. Upton has 14 years' experience on Wall Street.
