In Brief: InteliData Founder Gorog Dead at 76

RESTON, Va. -- William F. Gorog, the chairman and founder of InteliData Technologies Corp., an electronic banking and bill payment technology vendor, died on Sunday of complications from lung cancer. He was 76.

Mr. Gorog, who founded InteliData in 1990 after selling his previous technology company, Data Corp., to Mead Corp., once served as deputy director of President Ford's economic policy board and did a stint as the president of the Magazine Publishers of America.

Mr. Gorog was one of the founders, and the chairman and chief executive officer, of Data Corp, where he developed Lexis/Nexis, the widely used law and news information database. In 1969, Data Corp. merged with the Mead Corp., and Mr. Gorog served as chairman and CEO of the merged company.
