In Brief: HSBC Names FIG Co-Heads for Americas

HSBC Holdings PLC has named two investment bankers, Stephan Kiratsous and David Nelson, as co-heads of its financial institutions group in the Americas.

The London company announced the hirings Tuesday.

The two co-heads succeeded Alan Ginsberg, who joined Banc of America Securities on Friday as a managing director of its group covering banks, brokerage firms, and other financial institutions. He reports to Tony Ursano, the head of the Bank of America Corp. investment banking unit, a company spokesman said.

Mr. Kiratsous joined HSBC's New York investment banking unit in May 2005 to run its insurance banking practice. Before that he had been a banker for the insurance industry at Merrill Lynch & Co.

Nelson joined HSBC in May 2004 to run its corporate and institutional banking coverage for the insurance industry in the Americas. Before that he had worked for 12 years covering insurance clients at Chase Manhattan Bank, now a part of JPMorgan Chase & Co. - Dow Jones
