In Brief: Chase to Convert La. Bank One Branches

JPMorgan Chase & Co. will convert the 176 Bank One branches in Louisiana over the weekend to JPMorgan Chase Bank.

The nation's third-largest banking company bought Bank One Corp. on July 1, 2004. The Chicago bank's name will eventually disappear, though JPMorgan Chase will use Bank One's computer system.

The rebranding started in April in Kentucky. Next on the conversion schedule are the Texas and Illinois branches, which will change their names in the fall, a spokesman said Wednesday.

JPMorgan Chase will finish the conversion in mid-2006, he said.
