The $3.4 billion-asset BancFirst Corp. of Oklahoma City is buying the $44 million-asset First Bartlesville Bank of Bartlesville, Okla.
The price was not disclosed. The deal was announced Tuesday and is expected to close this quarter.
Joe Shockley, BancFirst's chief financial officer, said it was attracted by First Bartlesville's experienced bankers and Bartlesville's two small colleges, Oklahoma Wesleyan and Rogers State.
"With our capital and resources and their experience and reputation in that community, we think we can have good inroads into growing the bank," Mr. Shockley said.
The First Bartlesville name would disappear in the fourth quarter, when its computer systems would be combined with BancFirst's. Mr. Shockley said Glenn Bonner, First Bartlesville's president and chief executive, would become the president of BancFirst's Bartlesville market.
